Martha Elizabeth Dixon Richards, 92, of Williamsburg, VA, and formerly of Savannah, GA, passed away on March 21, 2010.

Martha had worked at Candler Hospital as an insurance claims specialist for many years. She was a member of the First Savannah Seventh-day Adventist Church. She enjoyed counted-cross stitching, gardening, reading, and spending time with her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Logan Bleckley and Minnie Lou Foss Dixon; sisters, Mary Dixon Brown and Dorothy Dixon Crawford; and her brother, Logan Bleckley Dixon, Jr.

Martha is survived by her son, James R. Richards, Jr. and his wife, Linda; her daughter, Lorie Madelon Richards Rockhill and her husband, Gean; and grandchildren, Dr. Ryan Rockhill, Lt. Adam Rockhill, and James R. Richards, III.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 25, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel. A funeral service will be held following the visitation at 1:00 PM.

Interment will follow the service at Bonaventure Cemetery, 330 Bonaventure Road, Savannah, GA.
